The Forest: How to Drop Items, Step-by-Step (Give Item To Player)

This page explains how to drop items in The Forest

When it comes to survival, The Forest is one of the best and toughest experiences to play solo and with friends. Joining your friends for a multiplayer mayhem-filled thrill ride makes the game way more fun and challenging — now that you have extra mouths to feed and lives to look after. In this multiplayer game, you may want to give items to your friends, sharing is caring after all; so here’s how to drop items in The Forest.

Why Drop Items in The Forest

There are times when you may need to share resources, food is usually the most frequently required item your friends asks for. You may all be away from your base gathering resources, the traps have proven useful but there isn’t enough food to go around. We’ve all been there, after running away from a bunch of cannibals and now your energy is down, and some soda is needed to replenish those stats.

During a single-player game, you’ll never need to drop items as there’s a limit to the number of each item you can carry. You’ll be lugging 5 rocks, 20 rags, rope, cans of soda, and loads of other items. Every item is key to surviving and crafting when playing solo so don’t drop stuff.

How to Drop Items

To drop items in The Forest, go to your inventory and select the item you would like to share with your friend, and equip the item. With the item in your hand press G (pc) B (Xbox) Circle (PS) to drop the item. You can only drop one item at a time. If you have a tray, you can combine items to the tray and hold the tray.

Your friend can see the item on it and take them. If you have shelves, it’s possible to place the items on it that way multiple items are placed and it’s much faster for everyone and better overall. And that ladies and gentlemen is how to drop items in The Forest.
