How to Make Arrows in The Forest

This page explains how to make every type of arrow in The Forest

You’ve made some traps and caught some meat; this should keep you fed for a while. The slingshot has proved more than useful in taking out birds now that you’ve learned how to line up those shots. But what’s next? What other useful tool are you missing? The bow and arrow of course. And there’s a few different arrows you can craft to make you a deadlier hunter and the cannibal’s worst nightmare. This is how to make arrows in The Forest.

The Bow

There are two bows in The Forest, the first you can craft, and the second is the Modern Bow found in Cave 7 the Chasm Cave. To make a bow all you need is 1 Stick, 1 Cloth, and 1 Rope. That’s all. The Crafted Bow is a brilliant weapon that will kill a regular cannibal with a single headshot. Arrows do require some resource gathering and with enough practice, you’ll be an excellent hunter.

Normal Arrows

There are 5 arrow types you can use with the bow, 4 are craftable only the modern arrows can’t be made. All arrow types need the basic requirements of sticks and feathers.

Normal Arrows need 1 Stick and 5 Feathers. This will craft 5 arrows. They’re the cheapest to make and are ideal for hunting animals. Feathers can be found falling through the air, you can run up to a bird and hit it with a weapon or shoot with a slingshot. All arrows can be collected after being shot.

Bone Arrows

Bone Arrows deal far more damage, 40% more in fact than regular arrows. For Bone Arrows you still need 1 Stick and 5 Feathers and now 5 Bones. Don’t use these to craft poison or fire arrows as it’s a waste. Both types convert back to Normal Arrows after being fired and collected.

Fire Arrows

One thing to bear in mind is Fire Arrow damage doesn’t stack. Also, if you shoot a rabbit with a Fire Arrow it burns away the skin, but it’ll cook the meat for you. Make 5 arrows as usual now add 1 Cloth and 1 Booze and hey presto 5 Fire Arrows. Fire Arrows can pass through multiple cannibals making it possible to burn a few at once. When these are fired you can collect them, but they turn back into Normal Arrows.

Poison Arrows

Poison damage doesn’t stack, it does damage over time (DOT) the poison slows the movement of enemies and attack speed. They last longer than Fire Arrows but do less damage. When an enemy is hit with a Poison Arrow, they have a green tint on their skin. Poison arrows require 5 Normal Arrows and either 4 Twin Berries, 4 Snow Berries, 1 Amanita Mushroom or 1 Jack Mushroom to make 5 Poison Arrows.

Modern Arrows

Modern Arrows can’t be crafted, they’re found in yellow crates, and they have the highest damage output of all the arrows. These are more effective when used with the Modern Bow. These crates can be found where the Modern Bows is, Cave 6, Film Crew Camp, Snow Biome and near the Cockpit. The crates are a similar size to suitcases but are bright yellow. You can’t miss them.

We hope this information helps you on your quest for survival, and that is how to craft arrows in The Forest.
