How to Get Bloodhound’s Step Ash of War (Teleport Dodge) in Elden Ring
This page explains how you could perform the teleport dodge in Elden Ring.
What is the Teleport Dodge?
While not its official name, “teleport dodge” is a skill in Elden Ring that lets players evade or move a certain distance as if by means of teleportation. It is otherwise called the “Ash of War: Bloodhound’s Step”.
Per the game’s official description, the skill is described as:
“Bloodhound’s Step: Skill that allows the user to become temporarily invisible while dodging at high speed. Moves faster and travels farther than a regular quickstep. This skill can be used to circle around locked-on targets.”
If learned, it makes for a valuable ability that sees the player evading enemy attacks—which, in certain cases, can be a matter of life or death in the game.
How to get the Bloodhound’s Step skill?
Earning the ability to be temporarily out of sight while shaking off an enemy or group of enemies is a formidable skill that is not simply handed to the player on a silver platter. Like many things that are worth their trouble in-game, the Bloodhound’s Skill can be acquired after surmounting a certain challenge. In particular, by defeating a powerful dark knight called Night’s Cavalry.
To get to Night’s Cavalry, the player must traverse the bridge just in front of the Lenne’s Rise tower in Dragonbarrow. However, it is worth mentioning the said opponent only appears during the night, so it pays to visit the location around such time in-game.
Defeating Night’s Cavalry
Night’s Cavalry can be a tough enemy to deal with, which could easily kill you with a single blow. Although you may choose to go toe-to-toe with the horse-ridden knight and win a sweet, exhilarating victory, there are plenty of other ways to trick your way into overcoming the potent enemy. Like, for example, choosing to climb the nearby tree and do long-range attacks unharmed or lead it to a nearby venomous swamp.
Whether you choose to be the valiant and skilled player by fighting the enemy fair and square or choose the easier route through subterfuge, the one important thing is to defeat it. Doing so, you will be rewarded the “Ash of War: Bloodhound’s Step,” which you could use to leverage your way and triumph across Elden Ring.
