Slime Rancher 2

Slime Rancher 2: How to Get Radiant Ore

Players can obtain Radiant Ore a few hours after starting. Radiant Ore is a fundamental resource for progressing through Slime Rancher 2, as it’s a key ingredient for crafting the Jetpack upgrade.

This page details how to get Radiant Ore in Slime Rancher 2.

How to Get Radiant Ore

The player can get Radiant Ore by unlocking the Resource Harvester upgrade and travelling to the caves at Ember Valley. Radiant Ore spawns as a resource node within these cave systems randomly, and can also spawn on the side of mountains: either way, it may take some searching. The ore itself is uniquely pinkish, so identifying it is straightforward.

Follow these steps to get Radiant Ore:

  1. Get the Resource Harvester
  2. Unlock Ember Valley (the second island)
  3. Find Radiant Ore

1. How to Get the Resource Harvester

The Resource Harvester allows the mining of various minerals around Rainbow Island.

Players can get the Resource Harvester by crafting it at the Fabricator, which is located in the lab below the Conservatory. 450 Newbucks and 10 Cotton Plort (from Cotton Slimes) must be deposited into the Refinery to afford the upgrade. Once unlocked, the Resource Harvester will automatically get added to the Vacpack.

2. Unlock Ember Valley

Players can unlock Ember Valley by feeding Pink Gordo thirty food items so that it bursts. Pink Gordo is located in the northwest region of The Rainbow Fields. The water geyser, which was hidden beneath it, is used to jump onto the cliff above. Here, there is a switch that unlocks the Ember Valley teleporter.

3. Find and Radiant Ore

Players can find Radiant Ore by first traveling to the Ember Valley with the teleporter. Once there, travel into the cave area (where the Boom or Lava Slimes are located). Radiant Ore spawns randomly within this area, so it might take some searching.

Players that are struggling to find any Radiant Ore clusters should travel back to The Conservatory and sleep in the house. Do this for at least six hours and return to Ember Valley. Take another look around, as fresh resource nodes should spawn.

Although slightly more difficult, players can also obtain Radiant Ore from Starlight Strand. To unlock Starlight Strand, feed Cotton Gordo thirty food items so that it bursts. Cotton Gordo is found in the southern region of The Rainbow Fields. Underneath Cotton Gordo, follow the cave. Here, there is a switch that unlocks the teleporter to Starlight Strand.

4. Mine Radiant Ore

Once found, players can extract Radiant Ore by holding the VAC button. By default, this is the Right Mouse button for PC and the Left Trigger for Xbox Series X/S. Each resource node has approximately 2 pieces of Radiant Ore, which means that players saving for the Jetpack need to harvest five nodes.

What is Radiant Ore Used For?

The player can use 10 Radiant Ore, 450 Newbucks, and 10 Phosphor Plort to unlock the Jetpack. The Jetpack is an extremely useful upgrade to have and is needed to progress through Slime Rancher 2. It is needed as soon as the Ember Valley and will be required from there on.

Now that know how to get Radiant Ore in Slime Rancher 2, it is highly suggested to collect ten pieces. With them, go to the lab under The Conservatory and unlock the Jetpack.
